As the “capitol” of Southern California’s Inland Empire, you can be sure that there is an event going on almost any time of year in Riverside. Every February the Black History Parade and Expo takes place, proceeding down Market Street to cheering, waving crowds. May brings festive Cinco de Mayo celebrations across town along with the annual Riverside Community Flower Show and Vintage Home Tour, showing off Riverside’s many historic homes. The Riverside Sports Complex presents a huge 4th of July fireworks display each year, a terrific way to celebrate America’s birthday. Later in the year popular events include Festa Italiana, concerts by the Riverside County Philharmonic, the Festival of Trees, the annual Junior League Ball and the seasonal YWCA Holiday Home Tour.
